Access is via highway ES-495, the Estrada do Parque, in southern Espírito Santo on the border with Minas Gerais. In navigation apps, search for "Pousada Alto das Colinas" or for the Pedra Menina district. One note on the map: the inn is in the district of São Raimundo da Pedra Menina, right next to the park gate — not in the town center of Dores do Rio Preto, which is several kilometers away.

- 1.5 km. The Espírito Santo entrance is the Pedra Menina gate of Caparaó National Park, in the district right next to the inn.
- And to Casa Queimada, the trailhead?
- A 9.9 km drive, about 23 minutes. The trail to the summit of Pico da Bandeira — 2,892 m, Brazil's third-highest point — starts at Casa Queimada.
- Can I leave before dawn for the sunrise at the summit?
- Yes — the inn is a base for climbs on the Espírito Santo side: 1.5 km to the Pedra Menina gate. Summit sunrises mean leaving in the small hours, before breakfast, which is served from 7:30 to 10:00 am. On your return, a bed with heated sheets.
