How do I get to Pousada Alto das Colinas?
The inn is on the Estrada do Parque (highway ES-495), in São Raimundo da Pedra Menina, Dores do Rio Preto — Espírito Santo, Brazil, 1.5 km from the Pedra Menina gate of Caparaó National Park. How far is the inn from the Caparaó National Park entrance?
1.5 km to the Pedra Menina gate, the Espírito Santo entrance. Casa Queimada, the trailhead for Pico da Bandeira, is 9.9 km away — about a 23-minute drive.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in 3–9 pm; check-out by 2 pm. Early arrival depends on same-day availability; late departure must be arranged in advance and may carry an extra fee. Past 2 pm without prior arrangement, a full extra night may be charged.
Is breakfast included?
Yes. Breakfast is included in all rates and is served from 7:30 to 10:00 am.
Do you allow pets?
No — the inn doesn't host pets of any size. We'd rather tell you here, before you book, than have you change plans at the last minute.
What is the cancellation policy?
Up to 7 days before check-in: 100% refund. Up to 5 days before: 50% refund. Less than 5 days: no refund.
Which suites have a balcony or hot tub?
The Cedro and Colinas suites, on the upper floor, have balconies. The Araucária Suite, the premium room of the house, has a hot tub. All 10 suites have a double bed, minibar, TV, fan and heated sheets.
Do kids pay? Are extra beds available?
Yes, extra beds are available. Ground-floor suites: R$150 (under 12) and R$200 (12 and over). Upper floor: R$180 (under 12) and R$230 (12 and over) — per night.
Is it cold there? What should I bring?
Yes — this is mountain country, next to Pico da Bandeira (2,892 m), and nights are cold, especially in winter. All suites have heated sheets. For the climb, bring proper cold-weather layers, a windbreaker, a headlamp and trail shoes.
Does the inn have parking?
Yes — parking is included in the rate.
Is there mobile signal and Wi-Fi?
Yes. The inn has Wi-Fi and there is mobile coverage on site.
Do I need to book ahead to enter Caparaó National Park?
Visiting rules, tickets and booking are set by ICMBio, the agency that runs the park — check the official channels before your trip. If in doubt, ask the inn on WhatsApp.
Can I catch the sunrise at Pico da Bandeira while staying at the inn?
Yes — the inn is a base for the Espírito Santo route: 1.5 km to the Pedra Menina gate and 9.9 km (a 23-minute drive) to Casa Queimada, where the trail starts. Sunrise seekers leave in the small hours, before breakfast, which is served from 7:30 to 10:00 am.
How do I book?

How much is a night?
